Slate is an award-winning team of visual story tellers based out of Naples, FL with creatives conveniently located in NYC, LA and Seattle. We are lean, nimble, and love what we do. Today’s brands are constantly in need of more content, faster and that fits within their budget; something many larger agencies just can’t provide.
We are the ones producing your piece. All of it, from script to screen. By bringing an indie filmmaking attitude to commercial production, we’re able to embrace the challenges of each project. We partner with companies big and small to make video that resonates.
Tom Severini
Founder, Director, Producer, Editor
Tom’s interest in film started at an early age. Growing up around a father who owned a photo studio, he could always be found by his side. He graduated in 2001 with a BFA in Communications from Parsons School of Design training under advertising legends Martin Solomon and Bob Gill. Tom has directed commercials for notable clients such as Microsoft, Airbnb, and Dell winning over 40 awards including two Webby Awards. Throughout his career Tom has assembled a team of like-minded filmmakers with a passion for storytelling. This team would eventually become known as Slate. With Tom’s lead they have produced award winning national television commercials and marketing videos for companies big and small.
Gabriel Bienczycki
Director, Cinematographer, Photographer
Born in Poland, Gabriel studied music, fine arts and modern dance. During his extensive career as a dancer and choreographer, he sought an adequate translation of stage movement to film and still photography. Bringing this brilliance of live movement to digital media has been a driving force in shaping Gabriel’s dynamic style. Notable clients include Nike, Dell, Microsoft, XBox, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Nordstrom, Starbucks, LA Times, MTV and Amazon. Gabriel is the owner of Zebra Visual.
Sam Akina
Director, Writer, Producer, Editor
Sam graduated with an AAS in Film and Video Communications. His exceptional editing and story-telling skills allow him to find and clearly convey the message behind every piece he creates. His engaging commercial spots have aired nationally representing some of the most recognizable brands. Sam has worked domestically and internationally to produce commercials for clients such as Dell, Adidas, Tekk, Microsoft, Intel, Thomson Reuters, and Polish Telecom. Sam is the owner of Attackships on Fire.
